The Score

3/16/24 It was Shamrock and Roll with The Score at Joanna's!   The Score packed the house in Somers and delivered some shenanigans and serious classic party rock and dance music!   The dance floor was full all night long and giving an extended show, we still left them wanting more- this could have lasted all night!   The boys brought back a few tunes from the catalog including Friends in Low Places, Easy, Don't Do Me Like That and Centerfold, adding those to the favorites like Get Down On It, Uptown Funk and September made for a dance-tastic night!  We had a family affair as well, as Andrew  Banks joined us on sax and Emma Banks also sang backups on a few tunes!  We had so much fun performing for our ever-growing group of friends in Somers!  Thanks to Jeff and his staff for bringing us in and taking such good care of us.  We are back in June and can't wait!

2/17/21The Family Promise Fundraiser to fight Housing Insecurity was a hit!  The Score headlined the event at the Casa Mia in Berlin, CT and the patrons were having a great time!  Eric Markow opened up the show with his brand of solo acoustic originals and folk-rock Americana tunes, culminating with The Score joining him for a rousing harmonic rendition of Pure Prairie League's Aime!  Then the band kicked it up a notch with their brand of classic party rock and dance music!  The floor was moving all night long as the money was being raised through their raffles!   We had such a great time doing this important event and we'd like to thank Eric Markow for lending a hand, for Kim Usmani's unwavering support, booking us!  We made a lot of new friends tonight, and we hope to see you around again!  If you want to donate to Family Promise and their worthwhile programs, please contact them!

2/10/23  The Score Rocks South Windsor!  The Score had a blast jamming out with the fine folks at The Pub in South Windsor.  We had Evan Bellman join us for a few songs, including helping us bring back the NRBQ classic “Riding in My Car”.  It was awesome having him up on stage with us again.  We also had Katie Rogers belt out some Pat Benatar and joined us on backups for a bunch of tunes.  We had the crowd dancing all night long and we can't wait to see them again on May 11th!

12/31/23 HAPPY NEW YEAR from The Score!  We went out with a bang at Joanna's massive NYE bash, with a packed house and all night dancing!   The band played their usual brand of high energy, up tempo classic party rock like Earth Wind and Fire's September and Let's Groove, and Kool and the Gang's Celebration and Get Down On It, adding those to classics like Wonderful Tonight, Smooth and I'll Be Around for the perfect mix of dance hits! We had Katie Rogers join us for a lead vocals on the Journey crowd pleaser Don't Stop Believing too! The ball drop countdown and champagne toast was such a blast with our rocked up version of Auld Lang Syne and night closer I Want You to Want Me!  Thanks to Jeff for booking us for this epic event, many thanks to his staff that provided such great service, and most of all to the almost 200 patrons that gave such awesome energy and supported us tonight! We are back at Joanna's on February 2nd- hope to see you there!

12/16/23  The Pub was rocking with The Score!   The band delivered three scorching sets of classic party rock and cheer at The Pub!  Great crowd with lots of energy, the boys broke out the two Christmas classics, Santa Clause is Coming to Town and Run, Run Rudolph, with Santa Hats on heads, added Summer of 69,  Hungry Like the Wolf, Another Saturday Night and had a minute of Bohemian Rhapsody by request.   Put that with the best conga line during Volcano and some Kool, Earth Wind and Fire, and KC and you had a Pub Dance Party!  Big shoutout to Greg, Brenda and the crew for taking good care of us! The Pub is such a great place to see a good band- we are back for some Valentine's weekend love in Feburary!  See you there!

12/9/23 The Score delivered the holiday cheer to Strykers Cafe in Berlin!  It has been somewhat of a tradition, a Score holiday bash at the best little bar around, and this one was awesome!  We had a decent, energetic crowd, the bartenders were jamming during the tunes and the band, at least Jeremy and Matt, had Santa Hats!  The boys brought back Santa Claus is Coming to Town Bruce Springsteen style and a rendition of Chuck Berry's Run Run Rudolph to help spread the merriment, as well as returning Born to Run, Rock and Roll All Night, Honky Tonk Woman and Taking Care of Business to the set!   Thanks to everyone that came out and a shoutout to Mike and the crew for making it happen.  It was a blast to back at Strykers, we look forward to another show!

11/18/23  The Score rocked Somers!  The band was in top form for their return to Joanna's Restaurant, jamming out three solid sets of classic party rock for the massive crowd!  The energy was palpable as the dance floor was full all night long.  The band was joined on stage by the next generation, Jeremy's son, Andrew Banks on tenor sax for Sweet Caroline and Brown Eyed Girl, and of course he rocked it to the joy of the patrons!  The band also put fab versions of Hungry Like The Wolf and Walking on Sunshine into the setlist, to go with classics like September and I Want You to Want Me.  We love playing Joanna's, Jeff and his crew treat people right!   We are back for the final show of 2024- Joanna's Big NYE Bash, so call the restaurant for your advanced reservations, it's going to be a huge party- bring your dancing shoes!

10/28/23  Another show in the books!  The Score jammed out with former drummer Tommy Szymuc at City Sports Grille in Vernon. Just like old times! The band brought back Warren Zevon's Werewolves of London for the Halloween holiday, and of course kept the big dance tunes in the set as well.  Thanks to the Spare Time folks for bringing us back to City Sports Grille!

10/21/23  Successful debut at Kaptain Jimmy's in Agawam!  The boys put out a great show at Kaptain Jimmy's, giving three solid sets of dance music!  It was a mix of dance tunes like Kool and the Gang's Get Down On It and Celebration, September and I Wish made a comeback as well as some rock stuff like a return of One of These Nights, We're An American Band, and Having a Party!  The bar commented how we have something for everybody- which is our goal!  We look forward to returning to Kaptain Jimmy's, we loved their system and the huge stage, the food was awesome too!  Big thanks to Bill Christy, Ryan the sound guy and the KJ staff for treating us so well!  

10/14/23  The Score rocked Sicily's in Middletown!  The boys put out two long sets of classic party rock and dance music for the patrons at Sicily Coal Fired Pizza!   They even added a few new tunes, including The Eagles classic, One of These Nights, Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf, Billy Joel's Moving Out and returned Into the Mystic to the set list!   There is such a cool vibe at Sicily's, hope to see you there next time!

9/23/23  Another packed house in the books at The Pub!  The Score was in the house and the floor was rocking!  We had them dancing all night long with classic party rock songs like Summer of 69, September, Let's Groove, Get Down On It and Celebration!  We had Evan Bellman back in the fold for this one and he was scorching all night, even broke out the acoustic for a couple of Buffett sonds- Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw and capped off the night with Margaritaville.  We supplied three long sets, but left them wanting even more!   We always love to play the Pub!  See you next time!

9/16/23  It is always an honor to be chosen to play a wedding-  we were granted that by Ashley and Jill, whose beautiful ceremony at the White Hart Inn was capped off with a big party of dancing and celebrating!  The crowd was on the floor all night long dancing the night away to great tunes like September, The Twist/ Shout and Twist and Shout Medley, You May Be Right and The Middle!  This was truly a wonderful affair with great people and we thank them for allowing us to be a part of their big day!  If you need a wedding band that also DJ's we are YOUR band!

9/10/23  Callbacks mean a lot! The Score had the pleasure of returning to the Ellington Congregational Church for their fall picnic and rally.  The weather forced us indoors, but plenty of fun was had!  The Score had Mitch Banks on drums, subbing for Eric and for the first time in many years we played a show without keyboards.  The band didn't miss a beat, delivering some awesome classic party rock for the folks of Ellington.  We debuted an offering of the Eagles One of These Nights, and the crowd was digging Summer of 69 and Long Train Running!  We are honored to be the band of choice for the Ellington Congregational Church and look forward to seeing them next year!

8/26/23  Summer fun at Joanna's!  The Score returned to Somers for another three sets of classic party rock for the loyal legions at the Northern CT landmark for live music!  The crowd was hitting the floor as always as the boys burned through the hits!  We added a few tunes back into the set list to mix things up, including,  Oh What a Night, Easy by the Commodores, Brandy, Moving Out, a rocking version of Sweet Emotion and a soulful version of Can't You See by Marshall Tucker.  We had a few  birthdays to shout out including Matt's 55th, so we did a quick Beatles Birthday, as well as a request for Moondance!  Katie Rogers was in the house to help out for a few too!  It was a great time as usual, and we would like to thank Jeff and his staff for taking care of us!  We are back in November and then we will close out 2023 at Joanna's for NYE!  Call them for details and tickets, it will be a blast!

8/24/23  Dancing in the Rain was the theme, as the weather reports kept changing from no rain to definitely rain… but the beat went on thanks to the EH Parks supplying canopies and to the folks that came out despite the drizzle!  The Score had so much fun at the East Hartford Parks Sounds of Summer Concert Series w/ The Score! We have so many family, friends and new faces to thank tonight for braving the weather and dancing in the rain! 70+, we are honored! Shoutout to Eric Feder for drumming tonight after being stung by 7 hornets today... We'd like to wholeheartedly thank Sean Dwyer and his team at the EH Parks and Rec for booking us again, and for the canopies! You all deserve huge shout-outs because you rock!  We look forward to a dry next year at The Sounds of Summer!

7/22/23  It was another awesome Score show at Joanna's in Somers!  The boys had the floor moving all night long, adding crowd pleaser Sweet Caroline to the  classic party dance mix!   We had Katie Rogers in the house adding some backups and lead, belting it out on Don't Stop Believing and Hit Me With Your Best Shot.  We even had a 37th anniversary in the crowd to celebrate tonight!  We love playing Joanna's, it's always a great time because Jeff and his staff know how to get it done!  We are back in Somers on August 26th!

7/8/23 The Score rocked Sicily's in Middletown tonight!  The band had the floor moving and grooving at Sicily's with some serious classic party rock including Let's Groove, Get Down On It and Uptown Funk!   Katie Rogers joined us for several tunes including Don't Stop Believing and Mustang Sally!   Sicily's was hopping tonight,  we will see you there next time!

7/1/23 The Score was honored to perform at Callie and Austin Lawrence's wedding!   It was a beautiful event with awesome people.   The Score provided DJ and band services for the night as well as coordinated music for the ceremony!  The band had the guests dancing all night long with classic party rock, and by request, bringing back Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons hit "Oh What a Night (December 1963).  Between sets, Eric had the music pumping too!   We had so much fun and we want to thank Callie and Austin for allowing us to be a part of their big day! Congratulations!

6/3/23 The Score brought some heat to the Wethersfield Yacht Club!  It was an uncharacteristically cold June evening with a stiff breeze blowing off the water, but The Score was undeterred and delivered two long sets of classic party rock and dance music to a shivering but appreciating crowd!  The band brought back the harbor story song Brandy to the set list, and added a solid version of  Into the Mystic to the setlist.  We would like to thank Jonathan Palmer and the good people at the Wethersfield Yacht Club for their hospitality and we hope to see you all again soon!

5/27/23  The Score jammed out with an old friend at City Sports Grille!  The Score reunited with former drummer, Tommy Szymuc  as Eric was unavailable and it was like old times again!  The band brought back My Girl to the setlist and they played three sets of classic party rock and dance music, making a few friends along the way.   City Sports also booked four new Score dates  for 2024!  Thanks Tommy for helping us out, we had a lot of fun!  We'd like to thank Chris and the staff at City Sports and Spare Time for their support!

5/20/23 The 300th Score Show Extravaganza was a huge success! We had an awesome time tonight at The Pub celebrating our 300th band gig! It was so much fun jamming with old Score members, bringing back some tunes and seeing old friends. We'd like to thank former members, but always family: Dave Gager, Dave Blodgett, Walter Jennings and Mark Cormier for joining us up on stage, an honor and a pleasure!  Former guitarist, Dave Gager helped open the show on Feeling Alright, and in set two, Dave Blodgett and drummer Walter Jennings jammed out on two past Score favorites, Shimmer by Fuel and The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary.  Dave Gager then rejoined to unite the classic six for a superb version of the Grateful Dead's Franklin's Tower.  We haven't done those tunes in many years, but it was like yesterday

5/12/23  The Score rocked out Westfield at Shaker Farms Country Club!  The first foray into Massachusetts, and only the second show outside of Connecticut, was a success!  The crowd, which included many familiar faces from our Joanna's shows, was electric and on the dance floor outside, under the pavilion all night long!   We delivered two solid dance sets with all the classics, and left them wanting more as we had to shut down at 10pm due to town regulations.  We had a great time at Shaker and thank them for booking The Score!  Hope to see the fine folks at Shaker Farms again soon!

4/28/23  The Score had Somers rocking at Joanna's!  The crowd was positively massive and enthusiastic as they danced, filling the floor throughout the entire night! The band brought back Summer of 69 by request and Jesse's Girl and Jet Airliner were back in the set list, added to to those dancing staples like Jailhouse Rock, September, Get Down Tonight and Let's Groove. It's always a great time at Joanna's, and we would like to give a big shoutout to Jeff and his staff for taking such good care of us.   We are back at Joanna's on August 26th, which is Matt's birthday-  39 again!  Hope to see you there!

4/22/23  The Score invaded Sicily's!  Sicily's Coal Fired Pizza, the trendy Middletown bar and trattoria was hopping Saturday night as The Score was in the house delivering two searing sets of classic party rock and dance music!   The boys had Aaron Montiel back on keys and background vocals for this gig, subbing in for Brett.  He did a phenomenal job, of course and the boys had the floor packed with dancers all night long, jamming hit after hit like Get Down On It, September and Uptown Funk mixing in with classics like Old Time Rock and Roll, Jailhouse Rock and Long Train Running.  Great vibe as always from the Sicily's, we hope to be back there in the near future!

4/1/23  Callbacks are so important, and when they are for awesome events like the East Berlin Firehouse's Spring Fling… then it's party time!  The Score had the honor of performing another amazing Spring Fling, it was a packed house full of dancers as we played all the big hits and classic tunes-  firefighters know how to party!  We would like to send a big shoutout to the great people who keep East Berlin safe, and especially Cara Farr for being such an amazing supporter of the band and booking us for this special event!  We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

3/24/23 Had another awesome show at Joannas Restaurant in Somers tonight!  Jeremy was fighting the remnants of a cold but powered through it with the help of Katie Rogers pitching in on a bunch of songs.  Brett did one and Tom did a few too.  The floor was packed with dancers as both sections were filled!  Big shoutout to Katie and to Jeff and his staff for having us!  We are back at Joanna's now April 28th! See you there!

3/11/23  Congrats to Charlie Moss!  The Score had the honor of playing Charlie's Bar Mitzvah at Nomad's Adventure Quest on Saturday evening!  The event had all the traditional trappings, including an emotional candle lighting ceremony, great speeches from Charlie and his awesome Dad, Jon Moss as well as the somewhat frightning but fun chair dance to the Hora!   We provided the pro DJ services through Eric (and some adept Rick Rolling during the speech)as well as the band music during the dinner and dancing!  The band honored Charlie's request for a Score special on Born to Run, as well as bringing back some old favorites like Sharp Dressed Man, Taking Care of Business and Some Kind of Wonderful.  We had so much fun playing this important event and want to thank the Moss family for having us!   If you have a party or an event that needs a band or band/DJ- we have you covered! 

3/9/2023 Big news!  On Thursday, July 13th, The Score will be back at the East Hartford Parks and Rec sponsored Sounds of Summer Concert Series at Great River Park!   It's free and family friendly, so mark those calendars!

3/4/23  Middletown was rocking at Sicily's!  The Score was back at the trendy Italian bar and eatery for two powerful sets of classic party rock and dance music.  The boys channeled the energy of the crowd as they churned out the hits like September and Get Down Tonight and brought back a couple of tunes including Gimme Some Lovin' and Bad Case of Loving You.   Sicily's has the food and the vibe, it's just a cool venue- and we are back in town for another installment of music and fun on April 22nd!  See you there!

2/11/23   Valentine's Weekend with The Score!  The Score spread some love at The Pub in South Windsor delivering an arrow of rock and roll to the big crowd.  The energy was massive, and this was a great show! The dance floor was filled all night long, as the boys pumped out hit after hit, as well as debuting a fun version of Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf and adding Some Kind of Wonderful back to the set too.  Katie Rogers joined in on vocals for Mustang Sally, KISS's Rock and Roll All Nite and on Hit Me With Your Best Shot.   If you missed it, we had the three sets filmed on Facebook Live, which is on our FB page- check it out for the next best thing to being there, and while you are there, give us a like or share- we'd appreciate that!  We would like to thank Greg, Nicole and the rest of the crew at the Pub for having us back and we are coming back on May 20th for our 300th Score Show!  THAT will be a party not to miss!

2/4/23  Baby, it was cold outside; the deep freeze set in on Friday, and it was a cold Saturday!  But the dance floor was scorching at City Sports Grille in Vernon, as the boys put on two searing sets of classic party rock!   We had them dancing with a variety of decidedly warmer tunes like September, a sunny versions of Volcano and Summer of ‘69, as well as Uptown Funk, Let’s Groove and Get Down Tonight.  We had Katie Rogers return for some backups and a lead vocal turn on Hit Me With Your Best Shot, and we had Chris Chorney join us for the last half of set two on bass, while Matt moved to guitar!   It was a fun night, and it was warmer outside when we were done, perhaps the dancers helped with that!   We are back at City Sports in May, see you there!

1/28/23 Joanna's was hopping!  The Score had the massive floor full of dancers all night long at Joanna's Restaurant in Somers!  The boys cranked out the classics from the big stage at Joanna's, celebrating multiple birthdays with a quick rendition of Beatles Birthday.  We brought back Kiss's classic anthem Rock and Roll All Night and it was a party that day with dance tunes like Let's Groove, September, Get Down on It and rockers like Summer of ‘69 and Long Train Running/ Soul Vaccination!  We also had a guest vocalist, Katie Rogers, who belted out Hit Me With Your Best Shot!  We love playing at Joanna’s, it has everything you need for a great experience- big stage, huge dance floor, lots of room, awesome food and fast service!  The Score would like to thank everyone who came out last night and we would like to thank Jeff, Rosemarie and the staff at Joanna's for having us rock out for them!  We are back on March 24th, mark those calendars!

1/21/23 The 2023 Score calendar kicked off in Simsbury at The Maple Tree Cafe and the boys didn't disappoint, delivering two big sets of classic party rock and dance music! The band added Celebration by Kool and the Gang, brought back Two Tickets to Paradise by Eddie Money and had some guests too former Score guitarist Dave Blodgett joined in on guitar for China Grove and I Wish, which also featured the amazing Sara Sherman on vocals.   The floor was full throughout the night!  Thanks to The Maple Tree and Ellen Sebastian for booking us and we hope to see you all again!

12/17/22 The Score puts a bow on Holiday 2022 at City Sports Grille in Vernon!   The band had a blast at City Sports, delivering three solid sets of classic party rock and dance music!   We are back in Vernon on February 4th for another big show!

12/10/22 The holiday spirit was high at the Old Well Tavern!  The Score rocked out three sets of classic party rock for the big crowd in Simsbury!  The boys brought back the Joe Cocker classic, Feeling Alright and of course there were some Santa Hats, antlers and Christmas sweaters out on the floor all night, so we did give the naughty and nice our Johnny B. Goode/ Run Run Rudolph medley and we did Springsteen's Santa Claus is Coming to Town!  But it was the amazing dance classics like September, Let's Groove, Long Train Running and Uptown Funk that kept them there all night.  This was a fun show!  We want to wish all our friends a very happy holiday season and we thank the folks at the Old Well for having us back!

12/3/22  Naughty or nice?  No problem as The Score passed out gifts of classic party rock to the big crowd at Joanna's Restaurant in Somers!  The floor was packed all night long as the band delivered songs like Brick House,  I Wish, The Way, and a Christmas classic in Johnny B Goode medleyed with Run, Run Rudolph.   We always have a great time at Joanna's!  We'd like to thank Jeff and his staff for having us and we look forward to returning on January 28th!

11/19/22  Jersey Night Success in South Windsor!   The Score rocked The Pub on Saturday night to another big crowd!   We had Chris Chorney subbing in for Matt, who was mildly stricken with COVID and he was excellent!  The floor was packed all night as the band mowed through classic dance and rock songs like Brown Eyed Girl, We're An American Band and September!  We had a birthday to celebrate as we were honored to do some Beatles while the birthday girl danced on the stage with us! The show was extra special as it was Sports Jersey night, anyone in a sports jersey could win our raffle- a $10 Pub Gift Certificate!  We are proud to announce that Kristen Michaud Ruff, decked out in a Briere Flyers Jersey is our winner!  Congrats!  We are back again at South Windsor's landmark for rock in Feburary for a Valentine's Week extravaganza!  Be there!
